From Burnout to Bliss: How I’m Adding TLC to My November

November always feels like the ultimate boss level of the year. Between work, kids, doggo, and the looming holiday madness, it’s like trying to juggle flaming torches while blindfolded. And let’s just say, I’m no circus pro. Want a little glimpse of the chaos?


I’m constantly late. If we said 14:00, you can bet I’ll be there at 14:10, kids in mismatched socks and the dog dragging a rock far too big. Ever tried planning a quick 15-minute walk with the dog and ended up on a two-hour odyssey because someone got distracted by a squirrel or a particularly fascinating puddle? Yeah, that’s my life in a nutshell. My house is tidy (ish), but my brain is chaos. I’ll clean the living room like a pro, but the laundry? It’ll be there so long it might just become part of the décor.


I’ve also perfected the art of forgetting. I’ll walk into a room and immediately forget why I’m there. And the number of times I’ve gone to get something only to lose it seconds later? Honestly, it’s a skill at this point. Im persuaded my belongings grow feet and walk away its the only explanation for their mysterious presence where I could never imagine them. Add in trying to juggle work deadlines, bath time, dinner, and homework, and it feels like I’m permanently running on fumes.

The Art of “Mom TLC”


Now, here’s the thing: I’m terrible at self-care. Truly. My idea of a break is laying down with a snack and scrolling through my phone while whispering, “Please, no one say Maman for five minutes.” But recently, I’ve realized I need to do better—not just for me, but for everyone who has to deal with me when I’m frazzled.


I started small. Like, go for a run. Then Take a 5-minute break while hiding from the world with headphones on. To weekend trips with the girls, or I even once went on a week-long trip solo to visit the fam. And of course, I love to treat myself to pretty but practical mom accessories. My latest love is my backpack to organize the endless snacks, water bottles, dog bowls, gloves, pee accident change of clothes (for kids not for me) that I seem to carry around at all times. Can't live without my hands-free leash for those chaotic walks so I can hold a tea and still manage to chase after the kids. These little things might not sound like much, but they make me feel slightly more put-together—even when everything around me is anything but.
