Running, Resting, and Really Good Earrings

What an 8k, a messy ponytail, and a pair of glass earrings taught me about self-care

May has me running — quite literally. Between chasing kids, prepping for markets, and squeezing in one very real 8k race in Winterthur, I’ve been thinking a lot about what “self-care” actually looks like.

Spoiler: it’s not always spa days and green tea. Sometimes, it’s remembering to put on your favorite pair of earrings before school drop-off. Or grabbing a soft scarf that makes you feel put-together even if your to-do list is on fire. It's running in your favorite tenis skirt and feeling cute despite the redness of your face post run. It’s those tiny feel-good accessories that ground you, even when life is full speed.

This month, I’m leaning into the slow joy of small things — hand-blown glass earrings, colorful new scarves, and cellulose acetate hair claws that actually hold my post-run bun. Because whether I’m jogging or juggling (usually both), I want accessories that spark joy and keep up.
